I was walking my dog the other morning and saw a big racoon crossing the street and then he seemed to disappear. The ideal habitat for racoons are tall trees to nest and sleep in with water close by. This guy I saw is an urban racoon who travels and lives in the sewers. He has learned to adapt, but few make it past their second year due to conflicts with cars, malnutrition, and hunters - ones that kill racoons who venture in their yards.
